EDINBURG - Gregory F. Brockley, 72, of Edinburg and formerly of Delmar, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at his home.
Born in Albany on October 24, 1940, he was the son of the late Frank Brockley and Lillian Ringler Brockley Cheeseman. Greg was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy (1958) and attended Siena College. He was the proud owner of Brockley's Delmar Tavern for 32 years and worked for the State of New York until 2008. He retired to the Great Sacandaga Lake where he enjoyed the wildlife and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Barber Brockley; his children, Frank (Susan) Brockley, Christine (Michael) Walley, Michael Brockley, Stephen Brockley and Ryanne Brockley; and grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Brockley and Cooper Walley. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria (Dale) Oroszi and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar.
