DELMAR- George E. Frankovic, 89, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar.
Born in Albany he was the son of the late William and Mary (Blazon) Frankovic. He attended Vincentian Institute and Siena College. Mr. Frankovic was a US Army veteran where he served as a Military Policeman. He worked as an auditor for the NYS Department of Labor for 17 years retiring in 1996, and previously worked for 26 years for Schaefer Brewing Company. Following his retirement, he was a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. Mr. Frankovic was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He was a lifelong NY Mets fan.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeanne U. (Murphy) Frankovic; his children Mary Dwyer of Delmar, James Frankovic of New Jersey and Mark (Sheila) Frankovic of Missouri; His grandchildren, Allison, Aaron, Rachel and Sarah Frankovic and Matthew Dwyer; and a great granddaughter, Hannah Frankovic.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar, on Thursday, September 24th from 4 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
