George Berg, 81, of Scotia, New York, passed on August 22nd, 2022. Born on February 8, 1941 as Franklyn George Berg, he was the son of Viola Jenkins and Frank Berg. He was one of 9 children.
He married the love of his life, Linda on New Years Eve of 1963. Together they had one son, Douglas who they raised in Bath, NY and lived for over 50 years. George and Linda relocated to Scotia, NY to be with their son and grandchildren in 1998.
George was a Veteran of the U.S Army who was stationed in Korea as a sharp shooter. He went on to work for Taylor Wines Company for many years. He was also a volunteer for the fire police in Bath, NY.
George enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Linda and son Douglas (Stephanie) as well as his sister, Kay. Along with his grandchildren, Nicole (Nick), Christopher, Kara, Crystal, Jessica (Henryk) and four great-grandchildren; Riley, Tristan, Jackson & Sawyer.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his six brothers and one other sister.
Private interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
