DELMAR – Frank C. Ramnitz, 91, of Delmar and formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018.
Born in Sharon, CT on November 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Herman A. and Henrietta Kading Ramnitz. Frank honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was employed by Western Printing Co. of Poughkeepsie for 20 years and American Book and Meehan Tooker in E. Rutherford, N.J. before retiring in 1990. Frank was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Delmar and the German-American Club of Albany. Frank was the husband of the late Helen J. Ramnitz who died in 2008.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Steuhl; daughter, Debra J. Paquet of Delmar; son, Stephen F. Ramnitz of Vero Beach, FL; granddaughters, Kathleen DeMichele of Talkeetna, AK and Alysha Ramnitz of New York, NY; Carolyn's daughters, Laurie Hunt of Elizaville, NY, Cheryl Steuhl of Wethersfield, CT and Nancy Steuhl of Ballston Spa; sister, Louise Grey of Poughkeepsie and her children James Grey of Poughkeepsie and Audrey Jurutka of Red Hook.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. Private entombment will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Community Hospice Foundation or German-American Club of Albany.
