DELMAR - Frank Davis, 93, of Delmar passed away Wednesday, January 8th, 2014 at Albany Medical Center Hospital .
A native of Decatur, NY he was the son of the late John and Mary (Sernel) Davis. Frank honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of the American Legion and founding member of the American Legion, Worcester Post #1584. Frank was employed with Rosch Bros. as a Construction Superintendent for many years and is a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union. Frank loved the outdoors and was a founding member of the East Worcester Fish and Game. He was also an avid beekeeper and was a member of the Southern Adirondack Beekeepers Association. Frank served as a Boy Scout leader for many years and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Delmar.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Esther (Powell) Davis; children, Weston Davis (Elizabeth) of Hallowell, ME, Rebecca Wagenhauser (Peter) of Smithtown, NY and Bruce Davis of Delmar; sister, Edith Mostar of Latham; grandchildren, Jeffry and Emily Wagenhauser and Wade Davis; and several nieces and nephews..
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Worcester, NY in the spring.
