Frank A. Brodzik, 64, of Delmar, New York, died in a car accident together with his wife, Joann, on Saturday, November 22, 2014. Frank was born to the late Alexander and Sophie Brodzik on April 30, 1950 in New York, New York. He received an Associate in Radiologic Technology from Nassau County Community College in 1972; a Bachelor of Science & Physician Assistant degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1982; and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2000.
Frank met his wife, Joann, in May 1985 and they were married on September 20, 1986 at St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church in Dix Hills, New York. They relocated with their family to Delmar in 1993. Frank worked as a Lead Physician Assistant in Hematology and Oncology at the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Frank is survived by his children Paul A. Brodzik, 27, and Megan L. Brodzik, 23. Frank is also survived by his siblings: Elizabeth Knox of Hemet, California; Ruth Magowan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Miranda (Randi) Brodzik Horowitz of Phoenix, Arizona; Michael Brodzik of Salisbury Mills, New York; Edward Brodzik of Brentwood, New York; and Kathleen Corey.
Visitation will take place on Friday, December 5, 2014 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. also at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, Kenwood Avenue, Delmar, NY.
