ALBANY - Casper, Frances (Betty) of Vero Beach, FL passed away on January 26, 2015 in Albany. She was born June 1, 1929 in New Haven, CT to Marcellus and Helen (Dewey) Hitchcock, and married August 19, 1951 to Reginald Casper in Schoharie, NY. Mrs. Casper was a graduate of Schoharie Central High School and State University of New York at Oswego. Residing in Delmar for over 40 years, she was a dedicated housewife and beloved mother of five children. Other places of residence were Schoharie and Cooperstown and Vero Beach, FL. Betty enjoyed spending her summers with her husband at their house on Otsego Lake in Cooperstown for many years, before and after becoming "Snowbirds". Hobbies and interests included volunteer work with the Tri-Village Directory and Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed playing bridge and music – Classical, Big Band, Country and Lawrence Welk. She is survived by her husband, Reginald Casper of Vero Beach; her five children, Robert (Patricia – deceased) Casper (Oswego, NY), Gary (Debra) Casper (Clifton Park/Brooklyn, NY), Lynne (James Gross) Casper (Albany, NY), Martha (Richard) Eriksen (Latham, NY) Janet (James) Wolfe (Selkirk, NY); 9 Grandchildren, Rob Casper, Ted Casper, Ben Casper, Shelly Casper, Jaime Casper, Jennifer Casper, Casey Wolfe, Steffen Wolfe, Graham Wolfe; and one great grandchild, Ramona Casper. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 31st from 3 to 5 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A memorial service will follow at 5 pm at the funeral home.
