Elvira F. McCarry

DELMAR - Elvira Filiberti McCarry, 62, of Delmar, New York, passed away on June 2nd at home. Elvira was born in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Mary Filiberti on March 31, 1954. She went to high school at Saint Joseph’s and graduated in1972. Elvira went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fordham University. She graduated summa cum laude in 1976. Elvira worked as Assistant to the Controller for National Savings Bank for many years. Then she was a loving care taker to her elderly family members. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. Elvira is survived by her husband, Michael McCarry of Delmar, New York and her daughter Jennifer Grawin and her husband Ryan Grawin of Londonderry, NH. Relatives and friends are invited to call on June 7th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Applebee Funeral Home, Delmar, NY. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Church on June 8th at 11:00 AM. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of New York Oncology and Hematology especially to Dr. Rufus Collea for caring for her during her long battle with breast cancer.
