Edward E. Van Alstyne

Edward E. Van Alstyne Jr. passed away July 29, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Edward was born August 19, 1943. He graduated with degrees from Bethlehem Central High School, Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Buffalo. He was pre-deceased by his beloved father Edward E. Van Alstyne. Survivors include his loved mother Phyllis E. Mac Millen, brother William S., sister Joy Van Alstyne and her husband Joseph DeGiorgis, son Mark A. Van Alstyne and his wife Lynn, Edward's son Hayden S. Van Alstyne and niece Sarah VA. DeGiorgis. Edward served in Vietnam with MCB-11 where he quickly learned that the US Government was not interested in world peace. He spent his later days working for peace. He enjoyed working outside as a surveyor and training race horses. A graveside service will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871 at Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
