Dorothy peacefully passed away Monday, June 7th 2021. She was an only child born June 21st 1922 to Willy and Helen Hopkins. She was married to the late William Wilkinson for fifty years. She is survived by her son Bill and his wife Gail, grandson Will and granddaughter Theresa Milone, grandson in law Evan Milone. She has three great grandchildren, Annabel, Liam and Jonah.
She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and cousins.
Dorothy graduated in the Greenville High School class of 1940. She worked for over thirty years for Agway and for another thirty years for Sears. She was active in the Onesquethaw Reformed Church for most of her entire life. She served on the consistory for many years and was also the vice president for several years. She had also taught Sunday School since her high school days.
Dorothy had a zest for life, which was evident by the spark in her eye. She had an infectious laugh and made friends wherever she went. Any and all were welcome at her home and many holidays, picnics, and pinochle games were held there. She also had a stubborn streak and was affectionately referred to as the barracuda by her beloved husband, which would elicit a stifled giggle from her when he wasn’t looking. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of family, friendship, and community and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Onesquethaw Reformed Church, 11 Groesbeck Rd. Feura Bush, NY 12067 in her name, would be appreciated. Services will be held later in the summer.
