SELKIRK - Dorothy E. Zdgiebloski, 91, also known as "Dottie and "Gram", passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Albany on May 7, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Rosenkranz) Sitterly. She worked for many years with her late husband, Peter P. Zdgiebloski, on the family dairy farm until his passing in 1985. She had also worked in the cafeteria at the Bethlehem Central High School and at McDonald's. Dottie remained active in her later years with the Bethlehem Seniors and Sunshine Seniors groups. She enjoyed traveling with PR tours and assisted as a volunteer at local archaeological dig sites. Her many enjoyments included gardening, baking, cooking and crafts. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Sitterly.
Survivors include a son, Peter H. Zdgiebloski (Rita) of Selkirk; a daughter, Carol M. Northrup (Bruce Weber) of Selkirk; grandchildren, Peter A. Zdgiebloski (Cathy) of Appomattox, VA, Brian D. Zdgiebloski (Donna) of Lake George, Leah M. McElroy (Bob) of Delmar, Dan Northrup of Selkirk and Barbara J. Northrup (Tom Esmond) of Alplaus; and great grandchildren, Geoffrey, Stephen, Ian and Emma Zdgiebloski and Michael Northrup.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, 315 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
