David Lewis Stidom, age 80 years, a resident of Latham, NY, passed away Sunday March 16th, 2025 in Albany, N.Y. He was born September 16th, 1944 in Buchannon, West Virginia a son of the late Ira Lewis and Maysel Young Stidom. He was married to Deborah Kowalski Stidom sharing 50 years of love. Surviving are three sons Randall Stidom (Jeanie) Frederick, Maryland, Todd Stidom (Lea) Cohoes, N.Y., Chad Stidom (Denise) Delmar, N.Y., two daughters Carley Digeser (Bob) Altamont N.Y. and Markee Donner (Michael) Albany N.Y. One sister, JoAnne Talbert of Elkins, West Virginia predeceased 2012 and one brother-in-law Kevin Kowalski (Lilly) Tivoli, N.Y. and 9 beloved grandchildren, Bradley (Melissa), Mason, Bobby, Sophia, Jacob, Zooey, Ava, Mikey, Emma and two great grandchildren, Skylar and Madison and two nephews Darren Talbert(Kathleen) of Pikesville Maryland and Kurt Talbert(Susan) Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mr. Stidom was a graduate of Webster High School with the class of 1962 and began classes at Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland. David worked at Montgomery County Air Park, Gaithersburg, Maryland and Stevens and Kendall Co. Inc. at Gaithersburg, Maryland and was a Lieutenant at Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Volunteer Fire Department for many years. In 1980 David was baptized into the Catholic faith at St. John Evangelist, Wheaton, Maryland. He relocated to Latham, New York where he was employed for 30 years at Cummins Sales and Service, Albany, New York retiring November 2023.

David was a gentle giant, loving and kind who adored his family valuing his time with his children and grand children especially when it came to Little League and Latham Lassies. David was an avid fan of motor sports, locomotives, and a true Washington Redskin and Met fan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 9:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar.  The family will receive visitors at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
