SELKIRK - Clifford D. Thompson, 93, of Selkirk, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Albany VA Medical Center.
Born in Ravena on July 12, 1918, he was the son of the late Harold F. and Dora (Dabrunz) Thompson. A U.S. Army veteran, he honorably served his country during WW II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Thompson had worked as the service manager at Cedar Hill Garage among various other locations and had previously worked for the railroad. He was a member of the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #85 and a life member of the VFW in Ravena.
He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Harriet (Beck) Thompson. Survivors include a daughter, June E. Thompson and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 4th from 5 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 5th at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Coeymans.
