Clifford J. Scoons passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Albany to David and Helen (Jacobson) Scoons on February 20, 1930. A graduate of Bethlehem Central High School and SUNY Morrisville, Clifford later received his NYS teacher certification. He taught auto mechanics at Columbia County BOCES, retiring after 25 years. Clifford honorably served his country in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War and he was a proud veteran. His memberships included Bethlehem Lodge #85, F.&A.M. where he was a 68-year member and Past Master, and a fifteen-year member of the Delmar Volunteer Fire Department. Many happy summers were spent at the family camp on Loon Lake in the Adirondacks. 

He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 67 years, Irma (Quay) Scoons. Survivors include his children, Richard (Cathy), Curtis (Amy), Deborah (Jeff Mudge), Steven (Lisa), Charlene (Gary Crewell), and David; grandchildren, Patricia Lavery, John Mudge, Christina Hunt, Kaitlyn Scoons, James Mudge, Cameron Scoons, and Savannah Scoons; and great grandchildren, Hailie and Ryan Lavery.

The family will receive visitors at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, October 4, 2024, with a memorial service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to his Masonic Lodge may be made to: Bethlehem Lodge #85, 22 Celeste Dr., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
