Clarine Choyke Rabinow, 96, passed away peacefully, following a brief and difficult journey on May 10, 2017 at the Teresian House, Albany, NY.
She is survived by her loving husband "Stan" (Stanley) of 71 years; son Mark and his wife Nan; greatly beloved granddaughters Sarah, Laura, and her partner David Bissember; and predeceased by her son John. She was surrounded by family during the last months of her life.
Claire received her B.A. from Hunter College and M.A. in Remedial Reading and certified as a Learning Disabilities Teacher/Consultant working in the South Orange Maplewood School District for more than 30 years before retiring.
"Claire" and Stan resided for more than 62 years in Livingston, NJ prior to moving to the Avila, Albany, NY to be closer to family. She was a gifted artist and active member of the Livingston community, holding positions on the Livingston Arts Association and Livingston League of Women voters as well as the Livingston Democratic Party.
Funeral services are being held at the Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ on May 21, 2017 at 11 AM. A memorial will be held in celebration of her life at a date to be determined at the Teresian House, Albany, NY for her newer circle of dear Avila friends and immediate family and friends.
