Cedar Hill

Christopher Spartano, 69, of Cedar Hill, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024 after a long struggle with lung disease.

Christopher was born on December 21, 1954 to Louis and Mary Spartano in Utica, NY. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1973. He then continued his education at Herkimer County Community College in Herkimer, NY and later at SUNY Upper Division College in Utica, finally earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

After working numerous jobs, he landed a technology position with New York State for whom he worked for 20+ years until his retirement from the Thruway Authority.

Christopher met Heidi Burdick when they were younger and they later reconnected, fell in love and wed in 1989. From then on, Chris and Heidi had a lifelong devotion to each other, spanning 42 years.

Christopher also had a lifelong love for all types of music. He was an amateur musician and enjoyed playing several instruments.

Christopher is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Heidi Burdick-Spartano; his brothers, Stephen, Peter and Louis Spartano; and his many nieces and nephews.

The family extends its gratitude to Dr. Hilary Y. Robbins and the lung transplant team at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and the staff at Community Hospice for their loving care and support.

While we would love to hold a memorial service, Chris specifically requested no services take place. If you would like to honor his legacy, please donate to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
