DELMAR - Catherine L. "Kay" Mosmen, 97, a longtime resident of Delmar died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham.
Born in Middle Granville, NY on May 11, 1914, she was the daughter of the late James and Nora (Ryan) Lawler. Kay had been employed as the secretary to the Planning Board for the Town of Bethlehem. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and had been the recipient of the Senior Lifetime Achievement Award. Kay had been a member and past president of the American Legion, Blanchard Post Ladies Auxiliary. She had enjoyed spending summers with her family at their camp on Lake St. Catherine in Vermont.
She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Arnold F. 'Bud" Mosmen, Sr., her son, Arnold F. "Bud" Mosmen, Jr., and her brother, James Lawler.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Mosmen of Delmar; three grandchildren, Jennifer Mosmen and her husband, Sean Murphy of Slingerlands, Kevin Mosmen of Hamilton Square, NJ and Craig Mosmen and his wife, Cassandra of Malvern, PA; great grandchildren, Sam and Catie Murphy, Bryce and Harper Mosmen and Mya Mosmen; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 3 to 5 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
