Brian D. Cushman

SELKIRK- Brian D. Cushman, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 30, 2015 of natural causes while on a hunting trip. Born in Forestport, NY on October 27, 1949, he was the son of the late Adrian Cushman and Laura Kohl. Brian was a tax accountant for the NYS Education Dept. for many years and had his own private tax accounting business after retirement. He was very active coaching Bethlehem Tomboys Softball and Pop Warner Football. He enjoyed golf and was a member of Normanside Country Club and was a member of the Fuller Road Fire Dept. Family was very important to Brian, especially his grandsons, who were everything to him. He is survived by his wife, Paula Cushman; two daughters, Carly Friedman and Kristen Doyle; three grandsons, Leo and Clark Friedman and Archie Doyle; siblings, Penny Cushman (Gil Swartz), Christine Yager (Ed), Mark Cushman (Jane) and Linda Tallman; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar.
