Barry Lee Swan was born on May 23, 1942 in West Reading, PA to Edward Joseph and Arlene (Froelich) Aulenbach.
While serving in WWII, Barry’s father was killed in 1944 and his Mother remarried Kenneth Swan who adopted Barry. Barry earned his Bachelor’s degree from Mans

eld University,
received his Master’s degree and received his certificate of advanced study in school administration and supervision from SUNY Cortland.
He taught for over 20 years in the Elmira City School District and went on to serve another 10 years as a School Administrator in the Wellsville and Ogdensburg School Districts.
Barry was a longtime member of the Free and Accepted Masons as well as Ski Patrol at Swain, NY. He refereed soccer for both high school and collegiate teams and was on the NYS board of referees. Barry was an Eagle Scout who devoted much time with his sons in Boy Scouts and in later years when serving on various council positions. In his free time he enjoyed

shing and model railroading.
He is survived by a son, Kurt L. Swan, his wife Evonne, and their children, Madeline and Megan Swan; son, Erik Swan, his wife Jena, and their children Willow and Awnna Swan; his former wife, Patricia Swan; sister, Sarah Hary and her husband Mike; brother, Karl Swan and his wife Helen; and several nieces and nephews.

from 11 am to 1 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A service will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home.
