BETHLEHEM - Anne Elizabeth Toussaint, 77, died peacefully on December 6, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. She was able to spend her last few hours with family and loved ones.
She was born on March 25, 1938 in Waterbury, CT to William and Mary Wagner. Anne grew up in Cheshire, CT. She graduated from Trinity College in Burlington, VT where she studied Business Administration, enjoyed an active social life and participated in theatrical arts.
Anne married David Toussaint, Sr. in 1962 and was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar. She enjoyed reading and gardening and was a dedicated and loving mother to her four children. Anne worked for the Bethlehem Central School District for more than 20 years and retired in 2003. Anne pursued her love of working to help enhance education for young people and was especially good at connecting with adolescents. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Wagner, her brother, John Wagner, and her ex-husband, David Toussaint.
Anne is survived by her children, David Toussaint Jr. of Poughkeepsie, Karin Giacone (Jim) of Delmar, Kristin Toussaint (Bruce) of Knoxville, TN, and Jennifer Toussaint of Glenmont. She adored and bragged about her six grandchildren: Joseph, Gabriella and Jenna Giacone, (Delmar), Lucas Toussaint, (Poughkeepsie), and Jade and Charlie Morton, (Knoxville, TN). She was a very Proud Nana.
The family would like to thank the staff at Atria Delmar Place for their loving ways and for the doctors and nurses of Albany Med, especially those on C4, where our Mom was made to feel so comfortable and loved in her final days.
Family and Friends are invited to call Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 4 to 7 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle, 35 Adams Place, Delmar at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar, NY.
