DELMAR -Anna Marie Lawler, 69, entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany while surrounded by her three children.
Anna Marie was born on September 20, 1943 in Clare, Iowa, the daughter of the late James C. and Dolores Lawler. She graduated from St. Matthew's High School in Clare, Iowa and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the Georgetown University School of Nursing, and a master's degree in Theology from St. Bernard's Institute. She worked as a nurse at The Center for Disability Services in Albany, NY for 23 years, retiring in 2012. She was a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle in Delmar where she was active as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and in many ministries.
Anna Marie is survived by her three children; Kate Welsh of New York, NY, Colleen (Charley) Bucca of Albany, NY, and Matthew Welsh of Washington, DC; three brothers, Joseph (Elaine) Lawler of Ft. Dodge, IA, Dan Lawler of Ft. Dodge, IA, Denny (Le Ann) Lawler of Clare, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Anna Marie on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 9:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar, NY 12054. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also visit at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar, NY 12054, on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 4 to 7 pm. In place of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to Catholic Relief Services, 228 W. Lexington St. Baltimore, Maryland 21201-3443.
