SELKIRK – Alice Mae (Byrnes) Mattice, 88, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Albany she worked for Farm Family in Glenmont for 10 years and then as a bus aide in the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk School Dist. for 17 years retiring in 2010. Alice was a longtime communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar.
She was predeceased in 1980 by her husband Ward A. Mattice. Alice is survived by her son Alton (Cindy) W. Mattice, Sr. of New Baltimore; grandsons Aaron Mattice of Menands and Alton (Deana) W. Mattice, Jr. of Selkirk and great-grandson Ayden Mattice. She also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Alice was predeceased by her daughter Brenda Mae Mattice and sibilings Dorothy Hillman, Olive Motzer, Bob and Lester Byrnes and Jack Riley.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Applebee Funeral Home on Monday from 9 to 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
