Obituary of Carlton William Head

SELKIRK – Carlton William Head, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany on October 6, 1939, he was the son of the late Howard and Dorothy (Nussbaum) Head. Carlton graduated from Albany High School and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a missile technician. He was employed as a civil engineer for NYS DOT and later the NYS Thruway Canal Corporation prior to his retirement. Carlton will be remembered for his love of music and piano playing ability. He enjoyed reading about history, had a love for classic cars and motorcycle riding. He will be missed by all who knew him. Carlton is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dianne (LeClerc) Head; several dear nieces and nephews; and his beloved feline companions, Cowboy and Louie Bobby. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Peter's Hospital and the Hospice Inn for the loving care they provided. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 8th from 3 to 6 pm at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 9th at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
