My best university years at Western were spent in the company of Bryan. Such a fun loving guy. He was an usher in our wedding party.
Lost touch over the years as we all move on.
Memories of adventures with Bryan surface from time to time and I smile, sometimes laugh.,. I’m smiling now.
See you in another lifetime for sure Bryan

I also just learned of Bryan's passing while trying to find a way to reach out to him. My condolences go to his family members who perhaps will see this message. I worked with Bryan at Digital, Compaq and HP. The two of us worked on projects together when I was in HP FSI marketing in the mid-2000s. I have fond memories helping Bryan create the Open Source Advisory Council which helped HP's largest financial services firms learn the rules of the road for the use of Open Source software. Bryan always had great ideas for new ways to engage our FSI customers and was an excellent collaborator. Sincerely, David M. Wallace, Greensboro NC.

Dear Janet, Peter & Andrew,
It is with great sadness that I read the obituary of Brian. As two, almost three years have passed, I am not sure that you will even see this, but, just maybe. My husband Dan (R.I.P.) and I live next door to the home of Bill Jarrett on Tybee Island, GA. When you would come to stay on Tybee, you were our neighbors. I have many memories of these times, of how much you enjoyed being on Tybee. My Dan passed on September 25, 2007. I know that we have completely lost contact, but just wanted you to know that I am deeply sorry for your loss of Brian. As the years pass, may his memory remain as bright as the sun. God bless, Carolyn Sheehan, Tybee Island, GA

I am so very much shocked to read the news on the Facebook page. I cant and will never believe that Mr. Marler is no more with us. I saw him few months ago when he attended my Award Ceremony in Albany and when i visited his beautiful newly bought house. I returned my home with a sense that i will meet him again.
Its very much shocking. I cant believe this. I am truly very much shocked. I will never forget him throughout my life. In my recent visit to the US he told me whenever you are in the US and if you need any help i am just a call away. Who will i call now?
In just few years that i spent in the US, I grew accustomed to him. He picked me up from the airport when i first landed in the US and when i knew no one there. He took me to his beautiful home and i spent more than a week with him while we would go out every night to search for accommodation. He helped me settle comfortably in a rented house where i stayed for over 3 years. he would often pick me up and take to his home for a chit chat over a warm and strong cup of tea or dinner. how can i believe that he has left me? He was so energetic and healthy with a very good sense of humor, which i always admired.
He was more like a father, a close friend and, a guide to whom i would always look up to for advice and guidance.
I am shattered to the core of my heart and i dont know how Dr. Janet Marler will cope with this situation. They were a lovely couple and i admired them always and i would give examples of them to people about a loving couple.
I will always always always remember him and will cherish the memories of the time i spent with him.
May God bless his soul and May God help Dr. Janet and their two sons to bear the great loss and give them the strength to recover soon. Amin
