Obituary of Mary K. Weatherwax

DELMAR – Mary K. Weatherwax, 67, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Albany Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Countryman Connolly, and wife of the late Laverne W. Weatherwax. Mary worked as a secretary for the Bethlehem School Dist. retiring in 2000. She enjoyed teaching tole painting but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children, Susan (Wes Bates) Weatherwax of Glenmont, John Weatherwax of Oxnard, CA and Karen (Raymond) Fitzpatrick of Clarksville; her grandchildren Noah Bates, Laura and Shawn Weatherwax and Raymond, Jr. and Justin Fitzpatrick; her siblings Patrick Connolly, Colleen (Bill) Brown and Eileen Charles and sister-in-law Patricia Harter. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her brother Michael Connolly. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar on Tuesday, August 22, from 10am to 12 noon, followed by a funeral service. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
