Obituary of Joseph A. Crowder
DELMAR – Joseph A. Crowder, 88, passed away at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital on Saturday, March 4, 2017.
Born in Albany on September 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Spawn) Crowder and a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School. Joe retired from the US Postal Service after 36 years of service and had also worked as a plumber. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Elsmere Fire Company.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his son, Edward J. Crowder.
He is survived by his wife, Irene J. (Friebel) Crowder; his daughter, Mary Anne Crowder of Guilderland; a sister, Dorothy Hicks of Latham; two grandsons, Samuel Joseph Blair and Zachary Edward Crowder; daughter-in-law, Tricia Allen; and his nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm Tuesday, March 7th at Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. The family will begin receiving visitors at 12 pm on Tuesday. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
