Obituary of Donald Lewis Chichester
SLINGERLANDS – Donald Lewis Chichester, 89, of Beverwyck in Slingerlands, formerly of Delmar and Syracuse passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016. Born in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Harmon Chichester and Katherine McMullen and brother of the late Harmon R. Chichester. Donald graduated Albany Business College and held accounting positions at Swift & Co. in Albany and J.R. Clancy in Syracuse. He served the US during WWII in the 82nd Airborne Signal Company. Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Janice E. (Twiss) Chichester; his niece, MaryPat Chichester (Paul) DiMascio of Maine; sisters-in-law, Alice L. (Delaney) Chichester of Maine and Joyce E. (Twiss) Plume of Albany, as well as several cousins. A favorite among many nieces and nephews-in-law, "Uncle Don" is remembered for his quick wit and kind words to all.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6 to 7 pm at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
