Obituary of Carol Green

GLENMONT - Carol Terko Green, 79, of Glenmont died Thursday, January 26, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Danbury, CT on January 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Paul James and Anna (Knuth) Weeks. She grew up in Newark Valley, NY where she graduated from Newark Valley High School. She graduated from the State University at Oneonta where she earned her degree in teaching and subsequently taught in Scotia and at the Elsmere Elementary School in Delmar. She later worked at City and County Savings Bank until her retirement. Carol was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Albany and a member of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), whose mission is to promote educational opportunities for women. She also loved to read and enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. She is survived by her children, John Terko and Jill (Terko) Wooson; and grandchildren, Adam, Leah, and Hazen. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Terko and Edward Green, Jr. A memorial service will be held 11 am Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie at a later date. Those who wish may send a remembrance in her name to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
